Who can take the CPR Training?

CPR training can benefit a wide range of individuals and groups, each for different reasons:

  1. General Public: Anyone can benefit from knowing how to perform CPR, as cardiac emergencies can occur anywhere, at any time. This training can empower people to save lives in critical situations.
  2. Parents and Caregivers: Parents, babysitters, nannies, and caregivers can benefit from CPR training to respond effectively to emergencies involving children and infants.
  3. Teachers and School Staff: Educators and school personnel can enhance student safety by being prepared to handle cardiac emergencies on school grounds.
  4. Healthcare Providers: Doctors, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals need CPR training as part of their certification and to ensure they are equipped to respond to cardiac emergencies in clinical settings.
  5. Workplace Employees: Many workplaces, especially those in industries with higher risks of accidents, benefit from having staff trained in CPR to provide immediate assistance in emergencies.
  6. Fitness Trainers and Coaches: Individuals involved in physical training and sports should be prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies among athletes and gym-goers.
  7. Public Safety Officials: Police officers, firefighters, and other first responders are often first on the scene in emergencies and need to be adept at performing CPR.
  8. Community Volunteers: Volunteers involved in community activities, such as scouts, youth groups, and volunteer organizations, can benefit from CPR training to enhance community safety.
  9. Elderly Care Workers: Staff at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home healthcare aides can use CPR training to manage emergencies among the elderly.
  10. Students: High school and college students, especially those pursuing careers in healthcare or public safety, can benefit from learning CPR as a foundational life-saving skill.
  11. Hospitality and Public Venue Staff: Employees in hotels, restaurants, theaters, and other public venues can use CPR training to ensure safety for guests and patrons in case of emergencies.
  12. Outdoor Enthusiasts: Hikers, campers, and other outdoor activity participants can benefit from knowing CPR, especially when venturing into remote areas where emergency services may be far away.

What is First Aid?

First Aid CPR Training or education in emergency care or medicine who provides assessments and interventions which should be medically sound and based on scientific evidence or on expert consensus.

An important component of first aid administration is that it must not delay activation of the emergency medical services (EMS) system or other medical assistance when required.

First Aid CPR Training involves learning basic skills needed to save a life or prevent an injury or illness from getting worse. These skills include the ABCs of first aid, which stands for Airway, Breathing and Circulation.

Why Train for First Aid?

  1. First Aid CPR Training should be universal – everyone can learn first aid and everyone should be given education in first aid.
  2. Some basic principles of first aid, such as applying a bandage or direct pressure on a bleeding part of the body are often acquired through ordinary life experiences. However, to provide effective, life-saving first aid interventions require special training.
  3. First Aid CPR Training is useful for one to be able to recognize emergencies and act fast without panicking. It gives an individual sufficient confidence and skills to help a person maintain breathing and circulation before definite medical treatment is given.

It also increases one’s alertness to keep himself and the victim away from potential harm. One area where First Aid CPR Training is important is where it relates to potentially fatal circumstances that require cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

After attending a course, one is awarded a CPR certification. Procedures and protocols usually change based on updated clinical knowledge, and to maintain one’s skills, one is often encouraged to attend regular refresher courses and re-certification is often necessary. Call (561) 571-2295 or book now to schedule a First Aid  CPR Training class.

What is BLS?

Basic life support is the level of medical care given to patients with life-threatening conditions until they can be given full medical attention in a hospital. Therefore, it is generally used in the pre-hospital setting, and can be provided without medical equipment or drugs.

Basic life support involves various life-saving techniques that focus on CAB of pre-hospital emergency care:

  • Circulation – techniques which are done to maintain an adequate blood supply to vital organs, to ensure oxygen delivery to all cells and remove metabolic waste
  • Airway – management of the victim’s airway to protect and maintain a clear passageway for gases between the lungs and the atmosphere.
  • Breathing – maintenance of rhythmic inflation and deflation of the lungs  to ensure adequate respiration

BLS CPR training provides healthcare providers enough confidence and skills necessary to give lifesaving aid to a person who needs emergency care due to injury or illness.

Examples of life-threatening circumstances include heart attacks, stroke, choking, drowning, bleeding and more. Healthcare providers who complete BLS CPR training receive a BLS CPR certification that is valid for two years. Renewal of certification may be required thereafter. Call (561) 571-2295 or book now to schedule a Basic Life Support class.
